In the next legislative session, the Florida Legislature will be taking up consideration of House Bill 33, a bi-partisan bill to enshrine in Florida law the rights of all people to be treated equally under the law and to be free from discrimination. This bill does on the state level, what should be done at a national level, which is to ensure that LGBT citizens not suffer discrimination based on their gender or sexual orientation. I support the efforts of Representatives Raschein (R), Edwards (D), Hager (R), Jenne (D), Jones (D), Maskowitz (D) and Stark (D), to protect the rights of all Floridians. As a U.S. Senator, I will work to ensure that the rights of LGBT Floridians are protected at the federal level as well.
